Dantxari Recipe Traditional Torrijas
One of the most sought after and elaborated desserts in the Gastronomy during the Easter period are the torrijas, we leave you the recipe of the traditional torrija
- 1 special bread stick for French toast
- 2 litres of milk
- 250 grams of sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- Orange peel
- Lemon rind
- 3 eggs
1- We heat the milk, with the cinnamon sticks, lemon rind and orange rind, when the milk is boiling we put the sugar and with a stick we stir to undo the sugar and
when it breaks to boil again we set aside for the milk to cool down.
2- We cut the special loaf into 10 or 12 slices, soak the pieces of bread in milk, then drain them and place them on a rack
3- Beat the eggs and pass the slices to cover with egg.
4- We put the frying pan covered with half of olive oil at temperature to fry the slices.
5- We take out and we drain in a source with kitchen paper of base so that it soaks well the oil.
6- Put sugar and cinnamon on a plate and mix and pass the torrijas to cover with sugar and cinnamon.
7- Of the 2 litres of boiled milk, we have reserved 1 litre to dip the torrijas in milk.
